A very earthy gemstone necklace with dark bronzite coin gemstones and the lighter shades picture jasper round gemstone beads. What makes this beaded necklace stand out is the Ammonite pendant.
Ammonites are an extinct group of marine animals. They are excellent index fossils, and it is often possible to link the rock layer in which they are found to specific geological time period. Ammonites are perhaps the most widely known fossil, possessing the typically ribbed spiral-form shell. These creatures lived in the seas between 240 - 65 million years ago, when they became extinct along with the dinosaurs. They belong to a group of predators known as cephalopods, which includes their living relatives the octopus, squid, cuttlefish and nautilus.
While the size of our pendant is approximately 2 inches, the ammonites could grow several feet. They have one on display in Germany that measure 6 ½ feet! Try wearing that one around your neck!
Each ammonite pendant is one of a kind and hard to come by. Once you make your purchase of this unique gemstone beaded necklace, not only will you be wearing an exceptional handmade beaded necklace, but you’ll also be wearing a bit of earth’s history with a fascinating story to tell.
The necklace is approximately 22 inches long plus 2 inches for the ammonite pendant.
The earrings are almost 2 inches long.
