Murano Glass Bead Necklaces
They say practice makes perfect, and while Girlie Girls hasn’t been designing Murano glass bead necklaces
since the 8th century, we do strive to make each necklace of the highest quality and simply gorgeous.
Why the 8th century? Glassmaking existed in Venice, Italy from as early as the 8th century.
In 1291 the
government of Venice banned glass furnaces from the central islands of Venice, relegating them to the
island of Murano. Isolated from the rest of Italy, their glass craftsmanship became competitive and
new complex techniques were developed by Murano's extraordinary artisans.
Murano is the longest lasting center for glass making in history.
We try to do justice to these incredibly beautiful Murano glass beads by designing bead necklaces
that enhance their beauty. Our Murano glass bead necklaces not only include various types of
Murano glass beads – Fiarato, Aventurina, Millefiori and others, but we combine them with precious
metal chains, cultured freshwater pearls, gemstones, lampwork beads and other unique findings.
Our creativity, the great materials we use, as well as our design knowledge and great craftsmanship,
all add value to our Murano glass bead necklaces. They are little works of art you will treasure for years.
Each jewelry piece comes beautifully gift-wrapped at no extra charge, and if your purchase is
over $150, it ships free. Read the testimonials from our customers and join an exclusive group of
delighted owners of Murano Glass Bead Necklaces.
